AI Advancement Lab for Creative Disruptors

A 5-week cohort journey

AI is changing how we work, create, communicate, organize, and survive. In this political moment, it’s becoming impossible to separate conversations about AI from conversations about power, labor, culture, surveillance, bias, and who gets left behind. For cultural workers, organizers, artists, nonprofit leaders, and creatives, the question is no longer whether AI will impact our communities. It already is.

We’re asking the question: how do we engage it without reproducing harm, extraction, or erasure?

The AI Advancement Lab for Creative Disruptors is a live, interactive learning cohort for people who want a more grounded, ethical, and strategic approach to AI. This is a space to think critically about what AI means for our work, our communities, and our futures, while also building practical skills that can support sustainability, creativity, and organizational capacity.

Together, we’ll explore how AI systems shape culture and decision-making, how bias and ownership show up inside these technologies, and how to use AI in ways that align with justice, accountability, and community care. Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of the political and ethical dimensions of AI, along with practical frameworks for making thoughtful decisions about how and when to use it.

Throughout the lab, participants will:

  • Build critical fluency around AI, bias, ownership, labor, and power

  • Practice ethical prompting that protects community knowledge and cultural intellectual property

  • Explore non-extractive ways to integrate AI into creative and organizational work

  • Develop strategies that reduce burnout and strengthen capacity

  • Learn how to approach AI adoption without compromising values or community trust

The lab is facilitated by Meena Das of Namaste Data, whose work focuses on helping organizations and communities engage technology with greater intention, ethics, and strategic clarity.
